I needed something quiet because I wanted to exercise after the kids went to bed and noise carries very well in our home. So I took a chance on an unreviewed product and I am so glad I did!It came ready to go. No major brain skills required other than I had to switch my axel on the rear tire of my bike from a normal (?) axel to a quick release axel (I thought my bike came with it, but it didn't). I set it up, put the bike in place tightend the axel holder, put the resistance thingy in place on the handle bar, put the front wheel in the included stabilizer - and off I went! Well, I didn't get too far (LOL), but I was able to accomplish a great workout! The noise level really isn't bad at all. I was pleasantly surprised as it's quieter than the treadmill. Parts seem to be sturdy enough to last awhile, the 7 gears change the resistance slightly, but kind of a pointless feature as shifting your bike gears does more. Also, it has included a front wheel riser, and the required quick release pin, which is needed if your quick release pins don't have a rounded end as mine did not. Those couple items will save you about $10-20 as compared to most other machines that do not include them. The only extra item I had to buy for my MT bike was a street tire, I tried it once with an aggressive tread MTB tire just to see what would happen and it started to destroy the tread and make an obnoxious sound as expected, so don't do that unless you don't care about destroying your tires or loud anoying noises. I just had meniscus surgery and wanted to exercise it, but was scared of getting on bike. The trainer stabilizes the bike beautifully. I am not scared to crawl on it and exercise my knee. I like that you can change the settings for the drag. Good price. Easy to set up. Worth the money. |
