It has improvements over the former, but also commands a higher price as of now. Whether or not Schwinn will eventually phase out the Active 10 for the A10 is unknown to me.==================== PACKAGING: The bike was in a large box which had a shipping weight of 65 pounds. All of the components are placed into two foam molds, which were very secure. The condition it will arrive in will most likely vary depending on the carrier and how they treat it. ==================== ASSEMBLY: Each component is wrapped in a plastic bag, and the console comes in its own box inside the package. Assembly instructions are provided, along with two User's Manuals, in both English and Spanish. All necessary tools and fasteners are supplied***. Bought this about two weeks ago. Just got home and put it together. Just like everyone else said the cable is reversed. Can't use bike. Called Nautilus Inc and they are closed. I see this is going to be a pain in the butt. Don't buy unless you want frustration! Purchase your bike from a local store! Lesson learned!Update - Did get hold of customer service after an hour and half wait on phone! Said they would send two cables but would take about a month. Waiting on cables. After reading other reviews I see a new console in the future which will probably take another two months! Still recommend you to stay away from product! Update 4/1/11 - Ended up having to get a new console as well. I have not received the cables or the console. I have not been able to use the bike since it arrived. (Don't take my word for it, just do a search "Schwinn A-10 E-2 error") In order to fix this problem you need to contact Schwinn customer service and they will send you out a new one. Not a big deal right? However the average wait for Schwinn customer services is 45 mins to an hour (Also well documented on-line) and to no surprise the part is back ordered 3 weeks. So I wait on the phone for 55mins to speak to a customer service rep (who was very helpful) and wait 3 weeks for the parts to arrive. And ??? The replacement console doesn't work either. Now I frustrated and figured I'd return it, but it only has a 45 day return window.
