I only have two concerns; one major and one minor. The minor concern is that I cannot get the Handlebar Mount Cover piece to install. For some reason the plastic tabs do not want to go into into their respective holes. The other concern is more disturbing. I find that when pedaling, my shoes bang against the crank with every rotation. I have more or less solved the problem by removing the straps on the pedals, allowing me to move my feet off the pedals by one-third, but this is suboptimal. I noticed that on the new Schwinn 170 upright bike the design of the crank is different, and seems to hug the bike more closely. If only I didn't have this problem I would have given the bike a 5. Long story short, new, wider pedals do not fix the REAL issue here-- the pedal shafts need to be slightly angled, not 100% straight. Honestly the only reason I'm even giving it 3-stars is that my wife uses it and doesn't have much of an issue with this.As I said before I do have large feet (men's size 12-13 depending on the brand), so that contributes to this. However, I have NEVER had similar issues on ANY other workout bike or "regular" bike. So it's not my feet that are at fault here. It's a shame because otherwise it's a solid product. I assembled the new bike, in it's nearly pristine packaging and was careful to lay out all of the parts and, more importantly, to take note of where they parts went in this box, just in case. Schwinn did a great job designing the bike. It goes together in about 30 minutes. The tools come with the bike and the only other thing I needed was a knife to cut some packaging away. The only challenging thing to watch for is to be sure the data and power cable that comes up through the center pier is a little tough to push back when installing the top logic display. The other thing that is easy to forget is to put the cover over the flywheel BEFORE putting the center pier in with data cable. The only thing missing were the two screws for the water bottle, but these are common and I had a couple to replace it... Was surprised to see... Read more |
