Assembly was pretty easy and took about 45 mins to an hour. This is my first road bike, so I don't really have any opinions on the quality of the materials like other reviews would have. But in my opinion everything looks fantastic. The frame is slick and pretty, and the wheels are a gorgeous compliment. (The box the bike it in front of are the two boxes the bike came in. One inside of the other.)When the bike arrived and I began assembling it I didn't have any doubts that I made a great decision. It comes with a pretty large booklet, to which I sort of looked to for assembly, but I mostly just put it together by how it made sense. I read a ton reviews that said follow the directions, but when I assembled it I got too excited for directions. Fits well (I'm 5'11), looks good, and rides really nice. The frame is light, the gears transition nicely and the chain hasn't slipped at all yet. A good range of gears, the old bike I was riding with 21 gears couldn't go as fast as this one can so don't let the number of gears fool you. Tires are good but with all road bikes one should be careful riding them on wet surfaces. The breaks work well. The seat is even comfortable which wasn't something I expected for find necessary from a stock seat but it is nice. The pedals aren't those that you slip your foot into, they're flat with jagged "spikes" which some people may like but I plan on switching to the ones that contain your feet. Before getting this bike, I purchased a Denali and in one 2 hour shift of biking, that thing messed me up and put me in danger so many times that I got home and put it back in the box. When I... For $250 you get the perfect road bike for beginners, like myself. So far I've logged 18 miles on this baby, and not a single problem yet. I did however replace the stock seat to something more comfortable. I'm 5'10", 210 pounds. This bike fits me just right. I'll update this review as I log more miles. Also, this bike is absolutely gorgeous in person, the pictures don't do it justice. If you're considering getting into cycling and looking for a road bike, THIS IS IT! |
